Halal Restaurants in Hanoi Ranked by Rating (2026)

Ratings were checked in October 2026 and the list is ordered by how reliable the rating is: restaurants with a well-established TripAdvisor rating come first, from the highest score to the lowest, followed by places rated mainly on Google Maps, and finally newer places with only a few reviews so far. Ratings change over time, so use them as a guide when choosing where to eat. Each listing links to TripAdvisor and Google Maps, which open in a new tab. Pho is Hanoi’s signature dish, but ordinary pho shops use non-halal beef and pork-based broths; Muslim-run places such as Pho Muslim, Halal Food Station and Kachi Kitchen make it with halal meat. Hanoi’s Indian restaurants are the easiest places to find halal meat, but most are not certified and some serve alcohol, so ask before ordering if you need a fully halal kitchen.

Al-Noor Mosque and Prayer Facilities in Hanoi

  • Al-Noor Mosque: 12 Hang Luoc Street, Old Quarter. Built in the late 19th century, it is the only mosque in Hanoi and northern Vietnam. Friday prayer (Jumu’ah) is held every week, attended by about 200 people, and around 400 at Eid. Zaynab Restaurant is inside the grounds.
  • Noi Bai International Airport: a prayer room opened in early 2026 at International Terminal 2, Level 2, near Gate 37, after immigration, with separate areas for men and women. We found no prayer room at the domestic terminal (T1).
  • Restaurants: some halal restaurants can offer a quiet space to pray on request. Ask when you book.

How to Check Whether a Restaurant in Vietnam Is Halal

Halal food uses no pork or alcohol, and meat from animals slaughtered according to Islamic law. In Vietnam, three organisations issue halal certificates: the Halal Certification Agency (HCA), Halal Vietnam (HVN), and the government’s HALCERT centre under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Very few restaurants in Hanoi hold a certificate, so it helps to know the difference:

  • Halal-certified: the restaurant can show a certificate from a recognised body. Ask to see it.
  • Muslim-owned: run by a Muslim family; usually fully halal even without a certificate.
  • Halal meat / halal options: the meat is halal, but the kitchen may also cook other food or serve alcohol.

Tip: in Vietnamese, “không có thịt heo” means “no pork” and “không rượu” means “no alcohol”. Show these phrases if you are unsure.
